C-Daily
(no prerequisite)
A
C-Daily is a one time lesson which often includes creating a project. These
workshops begin with a blank page and are instructor lead. Beginners love them
and even skilled students. Why? We have some really cool techniques to show
you and often these tips and secrets only find their way into a C-Daily.
Digital
Photography (no prerequisite)
Wow
your family with great photographs!
Whether
you are simply taking pictures on a family vacation or your friends at school,
you can utilize your creativity and intentionally take stunning portraits to
document your daily life! Using CyberMill’s digital cameras & computers,
you are led through workshops exploring the technical side of photography with
camera control & the artistic standards of composition and lighting to achieve
a beautiful image. Hands on activities include taking portraits (indoor and
outdoor), landscape & nature, architecture, close-up & macro photographs;
edit using industry standard, Adobe Photoshop software.
Graphic
Design (no prerequisite)
You
see Graphic Design on every T-shirt you wear, every Poster you pass, every CD
cover, and every postcard you send. Now you can be the one to create these things
that people see and use everyday!
Exploring
the world of graphic design, from fonts to color theory, our project-based learning
allows you to begin and complete a project all your own! Using Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator, and MS Publisher to create visuals that convey a message and/or
represent your personality. We give you the tools from our computer software
to create Digital Art that is both skill building and enables you to express
yourself. We use the visual art standards to enhance the programs and help students
identify with the world of art.
Personal
Website Design (prerequisite below)
You
asked for it! Create your own website and upload it to the Internet.
Some
classes show you how to create web-pages, we’ll give you the space to
upload and maintain your own site. Design your own ‘look’ and populate
your site with photos and other content that is important to you. We’ll
show you how to create web-pages and prepare your photographs for your own web
gallery. No need to e-mail photos anymore; simply give your friends and family
the address to your website and let them be amazed at your creation.
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of any one of CyberMill’s Digital Photography Programs
or possession of photographs suitable for editing and publishing on the Internet.
Game
Maker (no prerequisite)
Love
to play computer games? Why not make them?
GameMaker
is a program that is used to let you be a s creative as you want. You create
your characters, create the layout and YOU create the levels. This game is all
about YOU and its all about FUN. After a long day at school, you can come to
CyberMill and play while learning about the "behind the scenes" in
computer game creation.
Teen-Tech
Certification I & II (prerequisite below)

Certification
Level I students will learn how to inventory a computers RAM, processor, hard
drive and other components. Maintenance, troubleshooting, e-mail setup, program
installation and configuration are just a few of the others skills you will
learn.
Level
II students will learn how to install and configure e-mail clients; optimize
their computer for top speed (yes, games too!), and how to restore your computer
in case of catastrophe.
Prerequisite:
Teen-Tech I - Successful completion of CyberMill’s Basic Training. Teen-Tech
II – Successful completion of Teen-Tech I course & Computer Hardware

Digital
Video (no prerequisite)
Would
you like to be behind the camera?
Those
who choose to be behind the camera will handle the video camera’s, lights
and microphones to capture “behind the scenes” footage and interviews
of the Drama team. The video team will then edit together their footage to create
a short documentary.
Performance
Lab: Acting (no prerequisite)
Would
you like to explore acting?
The
Performance Lab is a theatrical environment. Classes include drama games, ensemble
work, improv and scene study which will be documented by fellow artists in the
Digital Video Workshop (a pilot program collaboration with a final presentation
on Nov 30). The performance will be a work-in process for friends and family
that showcases the talent and creativity of the all the participating artists.
For those who are interested in theatrical training with a professional actor,
this workshop is for you!

Skill
Building (no prerequisite)
Show
off your technical skills to your classmates and teachers!
At
CyberMill or onsite at a school computer lab, you can learn about computer basics.
Showing proficiency in Internet Safety, Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint,
Language Arts, and Internet Research. The Skill Building program is designed
to aid in overall computer skills which translates into a higher level of comfort
with computer based homework assignments and projects.
