The benefits of “reusing” electronic equipment are immense! Donate your surplus computers, monitors, keyboards and mice to CyberMill and help support low income students and families.
This year we are working with Computers for Classrooms – a non-profit refurbisher here in northern California. CfC is R-2 Certified and has been doing business for over 20 years! They are handling all our orders and doing a fine job returning our old worn out computers so we can get them back into circulation! Please consider donating to us before recycling elsewhere. We accept all desktops and laptops unless they are more than 5 years old.Computers must be a Pentium 4 or newer, monitors that work, CRT (17″ only) or LCD (15″ or larger), keyboards, mice, mouse pads, cables, speakers, surge protectors and modems. |
Did you know that recycling just one computer with a CRT monitor saves: 30 lbs of hazardous waste, 147 lbs (17.5 gallons) of water from being polluted, 1,333 of CO2 from being emitted, 32 tons of air from being polluted, and 7,719 kilowatts of energy? Yup.
That’s a net cost savings of $670 dollars – or the equivalent of taking .5 of a car off the road and saving 68% of one US household’s allotment of electricity for a year. Since 2007, CyberMill has distributed 430 refurbished computers with monitors. The environmental savings = 430 x $670= $288,100 worth of environmental savings!
