Did you see that CyberMill’s Summer Tech Camps were featured in the Napa Valley Register! Howard Yune, from the Napa Valley Register, came to CyberMill and observed Stop Motion Animation in action. One of our campers, Leilani Lanuza, 11, shows the backdrop she used for her project in the stop mostion animation camp. She based her project on the Kenn Nesbitt poem, “I’ll Never,” but she says she changed the ending. Did you hear the sound of a rustling classic engine and the laughter of childrens voices at the Independence Day parade on Monday, July 4th? Well, that was our Executive Director, Cynthia Dempsey, CyberMill students, and Jim Asbury in his classic 1968 Camaro!
They were accompanied by 2 beautiful Google dots, Katarina and Scarlette (CyberMill students). You may have caught a glimpse of 2 handsome “Like us on Facebook” characters who were covered in blue face paint and hair spray. That was Joseph and Nolan, CyberMill Interns and two of the team leaders at our Summer Tech Camps!
We had a wonderful time and Thank our students and families for joining the parade with us. Thank you to the Vivan family and Ainsley & Blake too! Finally, a special thank you to our military men and women who serve our country and our honored veterans! We love our country!

CyberMill attended the Napa Valley Community Awards “Celebrating Community” honoring heroes in the Napa Valley. The luncheon was held at the Napa Valley Marriott on May 24 marked it’s fifth year and acknowledged the outstanding efforts of eight individuals and organizations. CyberMill was nominated along with the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley, Cuidad de Paz Centro Familiar Cristiano, Community Action of Napa Valley, Connolly Ranch Education Center, Kiwanis Club of Napa, Legal Aid of Napa Valley, Loving Animals Providing Smiles, Moving Forward Towards Independence, Napa Valley Food Bank, NapaLearns, ParentsCAN, Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, Rotary Club of Napa and St. Helena Community Food Pantry, organizations recognized for giving above and beyond what is required and who inspire others to support their cause for the betterment of life in the Napa Valley.
The outstanding Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award was announced for the first time at the event and went to CyberMill Technology Center! We are so honored to accept this award on behalf of our Board of Directors & Staff, Sponsors & Donors, Interns & Volunteers, and parents and students. We thank EVERYONE who has had a part in in our efforts to bridge the technology gap and provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn with technology! We think it can be summed up in the words of our Executive Director, Cynthia Dempsey who said in her acceptance speech, “It takes a community of people to do the things that happen at CyberMill… great team, great staff and kids that pay if forward.” YOU!
Thank you Napa Chamber Foundation and Mechanics Bank for this great honor!
Meet Adrian, Cole, Nolan, and Chris who now own a refurbished Dell Laptop! These amazing students have refurbished computers, expanded their technology skills and helped younger Napa County students increase their knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet research and more skills than can be mentioned in one paragraph. We applaud you for service to the community and thank you for making Napa a better place for students and families to explore, discover and learn with technology!
Laptops were donated to CyberMill from the Napa County IT Department and Rabobank America. It takes a community of people to enrich the lives of children. We thank the local business, donors, and sponsors who are an integral part of helping us to provide opportunities for low-income students and families.
